  • The jaws in quality log grapples are made of Hardox steel.
  • Every joint in a Valby grapple has a grease fitting and a bronze bushing.
  • The Valby grapples have powerful cylinders with heavy pistons.
  • Twin connection rods provide good balance and less stress.
  • A belly plate protects the cylinder from below.
  • The Valby grapples are of modern bypass grapple design that support the log from underneath and both sides.
  • The Valby bypass grapples enable smooth roll in of the stems.   The jaws close to a tight minimum opening.

Hangers

It is necessary to install a hanger between the rotator and the lifting boom. The grapple enables the hanger to swing in two directions which reduces stress.  For more information, click here

A rotator is usually needed for the attachments.   A rotator enables continuous rotation of the grapple in either direction.   Rotators come in different sizes, depending on the grapple you require.  Click here for the options.
wpeF7.jpg (7274 bytes) A hanger is mounted between the boom of the excavator and the rotator.  It enables the rotator and grapple to swing in four directions.   Click here for examples of different hangers that are available.
